The Inquisitor is a small magazine with a high density of good ideas and good articles. Their basic approach is that WH40K players don't need to be dependent upon Games Workshop. Therefore, they provide ideas on how to make your own war machines, they come up with new rules (rather than waiting for the "official" rules to come out who knows when), and (when they can't get official answers) they publish their own solutions to rules problems. They even suggest which non-GW (i.e. less expensive) miniatures are suitable for WH40K!

Some recent Inquisitor articles have been on such subjects as:

Titan Point Values Point values for the Titans (Imperial, Ork, and Eldar) and Titan weapons. Also includes rules for crew psychology and auxiliary gun ports. One page of rules, two pages of tables.
Obstacles and LOS An "expanded" rule for movement and line of sight with regard to obstacles. Extremely useful for those who use multi-level terrain. Photo-diagrams. Five pages.
Wind and Fire Optional rules for fire and, since they sort of go together, wind. Buildings can begin to burn, or vegetation can catch on fire. Two pages.
New Eldar Aspects Descriptions of the less common Aspect Warriors: Brightweavers, Nightwraiths, and Destroyers. Includes new army list entries, new equipment, and tips for modeling and painting. Four pages.
Build Your Own Hot-Wire Foam Cutter It isn't cheap, but it's a great way to make mountains and crags out of foam. Four pages.
Mekaniak's Shack Building hovercraft from scratch.

Besides the major articles (of which there are usually three per issue), the Inquisitor includes these Regular Features:

Open Forum This 1-to-2-page column is a combination of editorial and mini-reviews of new products. The mini-reviews are both entertaining and useful (with perceptive comments on the new Codexes, for instance).
Hot Lead This illustrated column mostly reviews non-GW figures, but that's only because Games Workshop has been slow in sending review figures. (The editor tells me that GW figures will be reviewed in the next issue.) The reviewer looks for figures which work well with WH40K -- for instance, Freikorps' Phagon Battle Clones are said to make great Eldar pirates.
Gamers' Wish List Readers send in their ideas for what figures Games Workshop should make next.
Q&A Inquisitor publishes "official" rules answers, when they can get the material from Games Workshop or Andy Chambers.
Convention News, Wants Ads, Subscriptions Info The column has a long name, but at least it's descriptive, right?

If you play WH40K, then you should give this magazine some consideration. It is intelligent, practical, and fun. What more did you want?
