I had alot of bowmen, he had alot of cavalary (The Horde). We each picked and placed some terrain and he picked so much impassable and difficult terrain, that his cavalary were ineffective, but which only affected my bowmen a little. The battle was close for awhile, because most of the difficult terrain was on my side, but by the time my archers moved into position covering the objective, it was all over. [11 Sep 1999] |

My last game was a medium sized battlesystem battle. The theme was good vs. evil and each side had 6 units. The battle lasted a few hours and ended when, after charging down a hill, the orc spearmen caused the elf cavalry to rout. Due to the lay of the land most of the good army was routed. The forces of evil were victorious because good is dumb. [6 May 99] |

It was a 6000 pt per side game between the elves and humans vs.a huge orc, goblin and troll army. The greenskins destroyed the human elven army in 5 turns, taking minor casuilties. [25 Mar 99] |

It was a 10mm orc and goblin versus a medieval army, using the house rules called whack, chop and splat, good game. it lasted nine turns and left the orcs trying to make a break off the table without getting chopped to pieces. im about to buy armies of arcana. [24 Mar 99] |

Used Battlesystem to play a scenario based on LOTR. My brother's fourth age Avari army was cleaning up the valley from orcish infestation. We refrained from using magic and instead tried to make the game play as "medieval" as possible --pure tactics and brute strength with concessions to fantasy play being centered on racial characteristics. My orcs won a minor victory by holding their positions along a cave-infested mountain slope. The fight was pretty bloody though with the avari losing 3/4ths of their force --although they managed to push back the orcish territories a bit farther away from their settlements. Great page. wargaming is pretty rare in our part of the world & its pretty fun to see what you guys are doing. Would it be too much to ask if you could provide links to resources on lotr scenarios, heraldry, orders of battle? thanks and keep up the great work! [13 Mar 99] |
