We like it very much, and use it for our big Thirty Years War battles. If you are familiar with this system, you can play battles with about 40 units a side in about 3 to 4 hours. The troop characteristics are very detailed, and even the leaders have personality (drunkards, traitors, cowards, inspiring leaders etc.). Troops are defined by training, morale, tactical role, fatigue, armour and equipment. You can use any figure-to-man ratio you want, and even the order system is very realistic (i.e., couriers can get lost in the confusion of battle). You can even play with limited ammunition and weather effects. With the rules system, you get a campaign system and naval rules. |
